Robin Marchment
With a strong focus on clinical reality and patient presentations, Robin Marchment condenses the experience of an internship in gynaecology into an afternoon’s seminar.
Often we see that texts tend to present hypothetical patients manifesting one pattern at a time. In clinical practice, the original pattern has often proliferated into a more complex presentation. Patients commonly present with patterns incorporating several Zangfu systems, sometimes involving contradictory patterns according to the Eight Principles, such as the concurrence of cold and heat signs. By carefully sifting through the symptoms and by analysing and understanding the disease mechanisms, the Practitioner is able to treat with clarity and resolution.
Robin shares her insights into the understanding and application of Chinese Medicine developed from years of practice and experience. In this seminar you will be shown how to penetrate clinical complexities in order to find the key points, leading to a greater clarity of treatment principles.
Topics are explained from both the Western and the Chinese medical perspectives, while treatment protocols follow the traditional approaches of Chinese Medicine.

In this information-packed 4 hour presentation you will learn clinically relevant treatment strategies for female menstrual conditions such as;
Dysmenorrhoea (menstrual pain)
Hormonally related mood disorders
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding

Robin uses both acupuncture and herbs in her practice, and will discuss in this seminar the application of basic formulas and useful modifications. Robin will review valuable case studies representing different patterns and different types of patients from her own practice.

This seminar has been approved for CPD points.

This seminar is NOT TO BE MISSED by any Practitioner who wants to optimise patient care options with Chinese Medicine.

Robin graduated from Monash University in 1969 with a BA(Hons) in languages. Following graduation, she lived in Korea for one year teaching English, French, German and Russian, before returning to do postgraduate studies and tutor at Monash University.
In the 1990s, she turned to Chinese Medicine, completing internships and further study in China before returning to study Chinese language at Monash University. Currently, she practices as a registered Acupuncturist and Herbalist specialising in women’s health, including attendance at childbirths and treating fertility problems.
She is a lecturer in Chinese Medicine, and is the author of three text books – “Chinese for TCM Practitioners”, “Gynaecology Revisited” (also translated and published in German), and a third on the 2nd century classic, “Shang Han Lun” providing translations and explanations of the original text.
