WESTERN TRADITION
Day One:
* The history and social relations of cupping - including a collection of slides featuring cupping from the Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine, London;
* Traditional Western reasons why cupping is beneficial;
* European cupping methods and treatments;
* Russian cupping massage - learn a massage sequence using sliding cups for the entire back..
Day Two:
* Scientific interpretations of the action and benefits of cupping;
* Cupping for promoting blood circulation, improving elimination of tissue wastes and reducing cellulite;
* Treatment for clearing scar tissue;
* Cupping combined with stretching for treating sports injuries such as plantar fasciitis, ilio-tibial band syndrome and compartment syndrome.
Enrolment requirements:
* Accredited health professionals such as massage therapists, acupuncturists, doctors, nurses, naturopaths, osteopaths and physiotherapists.
* Students of an accredited course of study, who have completed a minimum of 50 hours in anatomy and physiology.
Note: Women who are pregnant should not attend.
Professional credits for this course are recognised with:

Association of Remedial Masseurs (ARM)
Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS)
Association of Massage Therapists (AMT)
Classes are limited to 16 participants.
